    A look into my sketchbook. Basic concept for the Book Cover "Geradeaus ist gerade aus". It´s the story of a young man in the 90s - the last analog decade. The author tells the journey of Robert a twenty-something . How will he finde his way in this time of break-ups, when everything seemed possible and the future is only slowly taking shape?

  Sketching and letting the idea take shape.     Proper outlines on the Watercolour Paper. Soak a dark tea with little water. Create the paintings background with different layerings of tea wash. Add some details with the tea to shape the white foxspirits. And use Watercolours for the tea cups.                            The final pair of "The Tea Foxspirits" with poem and signet seal.

left: first concept of Fuchsfeuer in my sketchbook right: working out the details of the design     Prepare the black background and transfer the design on top of the dark painted wood. Then I continue to draw the fine lines with acryl-pencils. And Voila!

Everything started with a spontaneous idea that I had to scribble into my sketchbook at once. A few days later I started to work on the picture. I made a sketch of the Dreaming Fox in the intended final size. After that it took time to find the right colours. First I thought of a dark night sky but later I´ve decided to paint a sunset.    The Dreaming Fox is ready to fly!

  I had a rough idea of the picture already in my mind and started directly the scribble in the intended size.                 For the coloring I worked with complementary colors. After that I applied strong black outlines to give the picture a Comic-Style.                 The finished picture. Nemo Fox is ready to take a sip of delicious tea and planning of new creative stuff.

I was searching for a Maneki-neko and I found it after a while in my sketchbook. Colored proper Outlines on the Water Colour Paper. I created the brown background with tea and the other colours with watercolour paint.  

4) The Polar Bear picture enframed. The blue frame fits the cold ice theme, while the beige passe-partout gives it a cosily warmth.

3) Picture is ready! Mommy Polar Bear and the little cub are sleeping in their ice cave.

Momentan arbeite ich an einem größeren Format. Vergangenes Jahr bin ich im Yellowstone National Park unterwegs gewesen. Die wilde, von vulkanischen Aktiviäten geprägte Landschaft, mit ihren Bison-Herden, hat mich schon lange fasziniert. Dort sind die riesigen Bisons auch gleich schnaubend und grasend direkt in mein Herz gewandert. Basis für dieses Bild sind mehrere Photographien, die auf  dieser Reise entstanden sind.

A little preview of my Valentin-Comicstory. There will be a Comic-Book-Release, which features many Comic-Artists of Munich (Comicaze www.comicaze.net ), who pay homage to the grandiose and crazy Munich-Comedian "Karl Valentin". The first version of my sketches for the Valentin Comic. The drawing is slow-going ahead - but today I achieved page 3.

Here´s a little insight into the "Train-Comic-Project". The story is about a old man who comes across a raven that´s wearing a black, little hut. It´s a surreal comic about the man and his journey of life.

Currently I´m working on a short Comic for the next Comicaze-Mag. When I´m tired, I look out of my window and can watch snowflakes gently falling down, little birds flying in the skies and the trees covered with heavy snow.

Nach einer Woche Arbeit ist das Bild, bis auf ein paar Details, fast fertig.
